What should the specs for the file be?

Send final file as a vector art file (AI, EPS, PDF, CDR, etc)
Artwork arranged inside a 3.5x2” box with square corners (rounded corners will be added automatically at a size of 3/16” roundness)
Make sure text is converted to outlines.
Use text no smaller than 9 points.
Avoid very thin lines and texts. If it’s too thin, it won’t be visible.
If the design contains any raster/pixilated elements please convert them to vector object(s). This will ensure quality and consistency
Use black fills to indicate engraved areas and red outlines to indicate cuts. Keep in mind darker materials may engrave lighter, which means your print file may appear inverse. If you’d like to also supply a .jpg mockup of the look you’re trying to achieve, feel free to do so.
Any required modifications to the file may require a setup fee.

What is the typical turn around time?

Typically once an order has been placed our turn around time is around two weeks until you have the cards in your hand. Rush orders can be placed for an additional charge.

What is the minimum amount of cards I can order?

Can you make a card that's different than the standard size?

Typically we like to run the standard business card size of 3.5" x 2". However if you have a custom size card you would like that is bigger or smaller than that we can certainly help. Additional charges may apply for more material or detailed cuts.

Do you offer discounts for large volume?

We do offer discount pricing on orders of 500 units or more.

I don't have a design, can you help me out?

We’ve designed plenty of business cards, and can do so quickly and efficiently. We can provide suggestions for customization and provide you with ideas for material. If you’d like to get a run of cards done, but don’t have a file, just let us know. Our standard setup fee is $50, which is waived on orders of $500 or more. If the design request is a little more complex, we will bill the layout on time, and let you know an estimate in advance.

How do I know what area is going to be engraved?

To avoid any confusion, submit your file with BLACK filled objects (not using outlines) to indicate where you want it to be burned in and WHITE (or nothing/negative) where you want the card untouched. If you would like a cut through do so in RED outlines.

Do you offer plastic business cards in other colors?

Currently we have 3 different colors of plastic available. We do offer other colors upon request for large orders of 250 or more.

How do you accept payment?

We accept payment by Check or with any major credit card through PayPal.

I don't have a PayPal account, can I still place an order?

Yes, you don't need a PayPal account to pay with a credit card. In the email you receive (with images turned on) click on the yellow "Pay Now" button. It will open a new page in your web browser. Click the yellow "Continue" button On the right side click the blue link "Don't have a PayPal account?" Then simply enter your payment information.

What is your return policy?

You will see a proof before laser cutting all the cards. Sign off on that and you’re responsible. If we mess it up, we’re responsible. No returns, only replacements for errors on our end.

Do you do other types of laser engraving work?

We offer all types of fabrication, custom design and manufacturing through our sister company at Pure Black Inc.
